As many of you know, for the last two and a half years I have owned and operated a Sears Hometown Store in Fayetteville, AR.  As I look back on this opportunity, and the events that took place leading up to it, I have no doubts that  this was a God given opportunity.  Looking back, I believed this to be God given for the purpose of funding CenterMark Ministries, Inc. financially, as well as giving me the opportunity to have the time to minister, and further grow this ministry.

Today, we are just a month and a half away from closing our store.  Most people, from the outside looking in, will tell you this a been a failure.  That God was no where in it otherwise it would have succeeded.  In the worlds eyes we are epic failures in closing the business, mounting debt, unanswered prayers.   I must admit, over the last couple of years I have ask many questions of God, things like how did I miss it? Hello everyone!

Well, I am glad to announce that God is still working in CenterMark Ministries.  He blessed me in so many ways that it is not even funny.

I have finally seated a Board of Directors for the Ministry, and we will be having our first official meeting next week June 9th.  I am excited to be able to share the vision that God has given me for this Ministry with a group of men and ask them to help guide me and keep me in check as we "STRIVE" to acheive what God has set before us.

Getting the Board of Directors set was a vital part of moving forward in this ministry.  Some ask me if I really thought it was necessary but I say "ABSOLUTELY".  Without a Board of Directors to hold me accountable, I am able to just go and start doing whatever in the name of ministry.  But the Board will help us stay on track with the overall Vision for our ministry.  Which leads me to a couple of other exciting things.

Many of you may not know this but I am unemployed for the second time in three years.  And even though this is, wordly speaking, a terrible time to be in such a situation, I realize that even in tough times God is working.

The progress that has been made in the rescent weeks concerning the moving forward with the vision of CenterMark Ministries is really something that I cannot explain.  The only way that I can explain it is simply this, GOD.  Even though I may have questions concerning how to fund this ministry, or how to fund myself, God is moving forward with his plan.  I am so excited that he has chosen me to be the steward of such an endeavor.

I am getting to the end of development on the "Strive" curriculum, with the first opportunity to use this curriculum coming in April, this will of course be with my home church.  But the really exciting thing is this; I have been blessed with an opportunity to do some consulting with a local church on the process of starting their own ministry to men.  With that I have an opportunity to go speak to a group...

These are exciting times for CenterMark Ministries, Inc.  God is tugging, demanding that we take that step of faith.  He wants us to get out of the boat and see how he can bless us.  These are uncertains times for CenterMark Ministries, Inc.  God is tugging, demanding that we take that step of faith.  He wants us to get out of the boat and see how he can bless us.

Are they really uncertain times?  Does not God promise us that if we will act in faith and work for the cause of Christ He will bless us?  So why are these times so uncertain?  Because I am weak in my humanity, and because of that weakness I am afraid.  In my humanity I am asking questions like;  Will God be able to do it again? Why is he asking me?  Why not someone else?  Is God really asking me to do this?

Henry Blackeby calls this time a crisis of faith. God is asking us to step out into a God sized event and to be still and know that he is God.  What will we do?
